A few questions. Some things I have been wondering about the past few days.
Are petz truly trainable? See, the thing is...I have seen that petz will start to do an action more and more if you reward them with treats and petting when they do well, so I guess they are trainable, but what about with posing? I swear it seems as though the more I work with Bee (one of my show catz) and the more I pet her when posing when I make that whistling sound by double clicking, the more she poses every time I do that double click.
Does good posing pass to children? If a pet naturally poses well, and so does the mate, will the offspring be good at posing? Or does traits such as good poser, or athleticism not have the ability to pass to offspring?
Now say posing traits do pass on to offspring, what if a pet originally didn't have that trait, but was trained to before being bred? Is it possible for a pet that previously didn't have a trait to be trained that trait (example being posing for this scenario) and then pass that down to offspring?
Very interesting...

Petz are trainable and can learn to do things when prompted and can learn to improve their skills with practice. However, I don't think specific traits learned by parents can be passed down. I think it goes along with whatever SCP (personality/attitude) they have from their breed or whichever breed's SCP they inherited. Take catz for example. Siamese have difficult personalities and its very hard to get them to pose at all. If you breed them with other siamese, they continue to pass the siamese SCP and it results in more catz with the siamese personality and reluctance to pose. The same can be said for poodles in dogz. So I would think if their parents had a good SCP and was inclined to pose and do tricks it could be passed to the offspring and they would be more naturally inclined to be good at posing/athletics/etc as well. If Bee had the SCP of my cat Snapple, she wouldn't be posing at all. *Really annoyed with Snapple* She's an alley/bw/siamese mix. Absolutely gorgeous and I planned on showing her. However, Snapple got a horrible SCP (Not sure if its alley or bw) and will do nothing but hiss and spat when I try and take her picture. It's literally all she does. She'd make a great fighter, but I doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to show her at all. Unfortunately I know that her SCP could pass to her offspring and produce more angry catz that won't pose.

Huh, very interesting! Thank you for your response.
I think it would be amazing if traits could be passed down (maybe tiny by extremely tiny they are, and of course, maybe not). Like you said though, there could be the chance that a pet that was inclined to be a show cat/dog or an athletic cat/dog would make their offspring (or some of them) more inclined to be so themselves.
Haha, that's a shame about Snapple! She sure is a beauty. Bee wasn't ecstatic about posing, but after she tried it (literally) about 50+ times she started doing it more and more with success (the training coming into play here I would think). It would be very interesting to work with this idea continuously and try to come to a definite conclusion as to whether or not it is possible to train traits and pass them down or even pass down traits that were inherently there to begin with, just with more and more accuracy each time. Wow, I love this stuff. ^^

Snapple is so pretty! And definitely an alley personality. xD B+W Shorthairs don't hiss and spit when their pictures are taken...just alleys! I love that about them though, haha!
I have never seen a pet pass a trait like this down before...but then again, I was never looking. Now I'm curious. This would definitely be interesting. I'm actually just interested in the idea of "training" a pet to do pretty much any action often by rewarding it...see, I didn't think you could do that. I've praised any pet I've caught show posing, but I don't show petz, therefore don't aim for posing...and so I never really figured out if my rewarding was doing any good or not. xDD
ANYWAY! One of the many secrets about petz...you always think you know them all the way, then more surprises pop up! I love that. xD I'm curious to try praising petz for random cute antics of theirs, simply to see if they keep doing it every so often. This'll be fun for them too, because it's praise for doing what they do best, hehe! xD

Aww, you know CatCreature, you're right, cute antics is what petz do best. I didn't show for the longest time because of that and I'm still on the fence of continuing to do so, off topic, haha, but anyway...
It is interesting to think about and even experiment with. Say a pup really liked to do flips, and if you trained him or her to do a flip every time you held out a treat of some sort then trained their mate to do the same, would the puppies eventually just be flippers by nature, even if it was a few generations down the line? I think I may start an experiment with this...

I was wondering which one it was, lol. I've never had any of my purebred alleys hiss or anything like she does so it just dumbfounded me. And it was even more random since she's multi gen and none of her relatives or siblings do that. Usually if they don't want their pics taken they just look at me like I'm crazy and won't pose.

^ How much do you snap the camera with them, though? o.o Every alley personality I have hisses and spits. Obviously the chain of camera snap reactions they have mean they could do other things more often, but they never fail to hiss for me! xD
Icciotto, if you actually do test some of these theories, definitely share what you find out with us!

Umm.... all the time and continuously hitting the spacebar when I do? Sometimes they get grumpy with other petz and hiss at them and all, but she's the absolute first to hiss at me each and every time I try to take her picture, lol. And now I think its really strange since I have a bunch of alleys and alley mixes because I love their crazy patches. Weird.

Icciotto, if you actually do test some of these theories, definitely share what you find out with us! I definitely will! It will be a long experiment as I raise naturally, however, I will post my findings as I go along! I am so excited to start this! ^.^
